TWO SEERS AND A SINNER ALSO
There were two seers
And a sinner also
Dreamers in their fashion
Their visions fell like rain
And brought savage pain
But they knew only passion
They knew only passion
Crazy and despised
Mocking men called wise
This first one transcendent
Who muttered in the streets
Wrapped in cast-off sheets
But always praising heaven
Only praising heaven
Outcast and alone
Speaking to the stones
This next one knew stark sadness
Who saw men passing by
Would soon wake terrified
And perish for their madness
Perish in their madness
Ravaged in time
Suffering, sublime
This lady begs for mercy
But look into her eyes
And Time somehow dies
And falls before her beauty
Falls before her beauty
