SHORT BLURB (LONGER BLURB IS BELOW):

The Tarbox Ramblers’ sound is rooted in hillbilly music, country blues and early rock ‘n’ roll. Critics across the board agree that this band comes to play. The Washington Post called The Ramblers “a force of nature.” The New Yorker said “Between the fiddle, string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you.” The Boston Globe wrote "They take forgotten music and breathe a freshness into it that lights up the room, causing folks to take a collective leave of their senses.” The Tarbox Ramblers have released albums on the Rounder label, toured internationally, and worked with Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Jim Dickinson.

LONGER BLURB

“Between the fiddle, string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you.” - The New Yorker

The Tarbox Ramblers’ sound is rooted in hillbilly music, country blues and early rock ‘n’ roll. Previewing the band’s no-holds-barred live show, The New Yorker said “Between the fiddle, string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you.”

Led by songwriter Michael Tarbox, the group also features violinist Daniel Kellar and the hard-hitting rhythm section of string-bassist Johnny Sciascia and drummer Jon Cohan. Kellar’s mesmerizing solos, and Tarbox’s barbed-wire guitar, give the band its edge. The combination of Sciascia’s percussive rockabilly style and Cohan’s New Orleans parade drums is its secret sauce.

The Tarbox Ramblers have released albums on the Rounder label, toured internationally and worked with heroes like Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Jim Dickinson.

PRESS:

“Between the fiddle, string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you.” - The New Yorker

"If the Rolling Stones had happened 10 years earlier, hailed from Memphis and been produced by Ike Turner, they might have sounded like The Tarbox Ramblers. The way the Ramblers lay down their backroads grit and raw hillbilly-rock jive, you're unlikely to hear a more genuine blast of sandpaper rhythm and roots." - Tristram Lozaw, The Boston Herald

"They take forgotten music and breathe a freshness into it that lights up the room, causing folks to take a collective leave of their senses.” - Steve Morse, The Boston Globe

"Homemade rock ‘n’ roll with a dose of rattlesnake venom and gospel-drenched howling.”  - NPR’s All Things Considered
